A chance for students to research, think and write about how Sri Lanka can welcome visitors responsibly — and what role technology and heritage should play.
Entries are judged in each district — Galle, Matara and Hambantota — and first, second and third places are selected in every category.

Who can take part
Students in the Secondary and Tertiary sections of schools in the Southern Province, taking part through their school’s tourism club.
How to take part
- Join your school’s tourism club, or ask your teacher coordinator about the competition.
- Your teacher coordinator receives the official notice with dates, rules and entry arrangements.
- Prepare your entry on one of the themes, in your own words.
- Entries are collected through the school tourism club.
- Write in your own words and list the sources you used.
Awards
Best Essay awards for the Secondary and Tertiary sections — 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each district. Certificates, trophies and financial grants will be awarded.
